Access the MIDEM Online Community via the new MIDEM portal by clicking on MIDEMWORLD on the navigation bar.



Your Personal Login and Password will have been sent to you by email following registration. If you have lost your login details, please select the "forgot password" option.

To start using MIDEMWorld, enter your Personal Login in the field marked ‘Personal Login’ and your Password.

Creating a personal profile gives you instant access to MIDEMWorld matchmaking. This allows you to:

• build up a network of contacts closely matched to your business see the resulting contacts and related opportunities displayed automatically on your MIDEMWorld homepage
• be identified as a potential contact by other MIDEMWorld users when they are searching for participants who match their areas of interest.
  
  
1. On your MDEMWorld Dashboard, click on ‘Edit personal profile’



 
 
2. Fill in the details as required. If you choose to hide your email address from other participants, all emails will go to your MIDEMWorld inbox. If you choose to show it on your profile, all emails sent to you via the Online Mailbox will automatically go to your usual email address.



 
3. Here you can browse through pictures to upload your personal photo. Picture size can be up to 100 Ko (JPEG or GIF format files).



 
4. Highlight your Main activitie and your Main genre by selecting in the drop down menu.
Highlight activities and genres in the box to the left and add them to your profile by clicking the arrow pointing to the corresponding box on the right.

If you change your mind, highlight what you want to delete from the right-hand box and click the arrow pointing back to the left.





 

Click on to go back to your profile page and see the changes you’ve made.

 
USER TIPS
It's important to set up your personal profile as early as possible, so that the MIDEMWorld tool can get to work finding potential contacts for you.

Choose the activities and genres that you’re most specialized and interested in. The more tightly focused your choices, the more effective will be the contact network that MIDEMWorld builds for you.

Generate an effective network of contacts and related opportunities for your business by creating a Company Profile.

In the ‘My Company Profile Update’ form you can change your company information, upload a new  logo, or choose a new main contact for MIDEM.

You can modify your company profile online by clicking on "My MIDEM > My Company and Products" in the navigation menu.

Then click on "Edit my company profile"



In the "My Company Profile Update" form you can change your company information, upload a logo, or choose a new main contact for MIDEM 2010.

Here you can browse through pictures to upload your Logo. Picture size can be up to 100 Ko (JPEG or GIF format files).

Once you've filled in your details, click on ‘save’ to see the changes in your company profile.

The more accurately you specify your objectives and interests, the more effective MIDEMWorld will be at finding potential contacts suited to you and your business.

Ensure that your time at MIDEM is as productive as possible by using your catalogue and service profiles to:

• give maximum exposure to your catalogues and/or services by using a variety of media (images, sound, video or pdf files)
• Image files should not exceed 250x250 pixels, 50 Ko (JPEG or GIF format files).
• Sound files should not exceed 5 Mo (MP3 only).
• Other files should not exceed 3 Mo (Word, Excel, PDF, Powerpoint, WAV, MPEG, AVI or MOV format files).
• generate interest from other MIDEM participants

  To showcase your catalogues and/or services, simply complete the relevant profile with a short description. You can create up to 6 product profiles (3 services and 3 catalogues). For each catalogue, you can upload one image and one music file. For each service, you can upload three images and three documents.
  
  

Use the MIDEMWorld matchmaking tool to:

• build a network of contacts drawn from a pool of over 2.400 companies and 7.400 participants
  contact and be contacted by your key business targets.

The database will automatically identify the right contacts for you to meet as well as identifying you as a potential contact to other participants.

Once you’ve filled out your personal profile, go back to ‘My MIDEM’ to see the network-building opportunities MIDEMWorld has found for you based on the genres and activities you have selected.

Sort through the profiles by category:
- Companies
- Participants
- Catalogues & Services

Every time you go to your homepage, MIPCOM will let you know about any newly-arrived companies and participants. Click on the ‘new’ buttons to see the details.
The Matchmaking opportunities are displayed in random on your dashboard.



You can also choose to find potential partners yourself by using MIDEMWorld’s simple but exhaustive search engine.
You can then bookmark participants, companies and catalogue & service profiles. Bookmarking:

• adds the participants email address(es) to your MIDEMWorld mailbox address book
• allows you to keep lists of potential partners and projects on your ‘My Bookmarks’ page.

Use the MIDEMWorld Search Engine to find full participant, company and catalogue & service profiles, including the contact details and interests of other attendees.

1/ You have access to four search engines, feel free to enter a keyword and look for:

• Participants
• Companies
• Catalogues
• Services
  

You can chosse by:

• Companies
• Participants
• Keyword
• Main Activity or Activity
• Main Genre or Genre
• Continent or Country
• Participant type

A catalogues & services search allows you to search for catalogues and services by:

• Keyword for both Catalogue and Service
• Activity
• Genre

You can choose to restrict your search to catalogues with music.

Once you've filled in the search term fields, click "search". A results box will appear:

3.See your most useful potential contacts first by sorting by company name or Country

Click on a search result name to view its profile and bookmark it.

You can bookmark up to 1000 bookmarks.

Select company, participant and catalogue & service profiles as you go through your search results to create your own shortlist. Your bookmarks are displayed automatically on your homepage so you can see your shortlist at a glance. You can also access your bookmarked pages by going to My Midem > My Selections

Bookmark a company, a participant or a product profiles as you go through your search results and create your own shortlist. You can also save your search criteria to get FAST ACCESS to data each time you use MIDEMWorld.

When you click on a search result, its profile is shown. This example below is a company profile from a company search.
You can forward bookmarked pages by clicking on ‘forward profile’. This will take you to a mailbox ‘compose message’ page with a link to the bookmarked profile in the new message.



Bookmark a profile by clicking on the Star.  Then you will have your bookmarked profile into your ‘My Selections’ page.

Save your search criteria to get faster access to information each time you use MIDEMWorld. The Save Search function stores your search terms for you, so that you can quickly and easily repeat the same search in the future. This enables you to identify useful contacts newly-arrived on MIDEMWorld since last year’s market, or since your last search. When you’ve performed a search and have a results box for search terms that you want to keep for future use, click on ‘Save search’.

• Click on ‘Save search’,
• A pop-up box will appear.
• Enter a title for your search and click ‘OK’ to save.
• You can then carry on creating new searches using different search terms.




To see your saved searches, click on ‘My MIDEM > My SelectionsBookmarks’.

The MIDEMWorld Mailbox system allows you to send and receive messages to and from other MIDEM participants without showing your e-mail address.

To compose a message, click on ‘Mailbox > Compose message’ in the navigation menu:

This box is your address book, and includes the email addresses of the participants you have bookmarked. 

Highlight the contacts you want to send your message to, then click the arrow key to the box below, to add them to the list of recipients.

The lower box is the recipient field. If you change your mind and decide not to send the message to a particular contact, highlight that person in the recipient box, then click on the up arrow.

You can send messages to external email addresses by adding them here, but only if a MIDEMWorls participant is also a recipient.



USER TIPS
You can attach files of up to 2Mb to your messages and have copies of your MIDEMWorld Mailbox messages sent to your usual email address.

If you find it more practical, you can choose to display your professional email address on your personal profile page and receive incoming mail directly to your usual email address. To do this, just change your settings in My Profile > Update Profile.
